After Life

BIOFUR® NXT is 100% recyclable.

BIOFUR® PLA textiles are 100% compostable in a controlled industrial setting. This process will take 3 months.

Carbon Footprint

BIOFUR® PLA has a CO2 footprint of 1KG per KG of product. This is considerably lower than PET which is 2.15 KG of CO2 per KG of material. This information is based on LCA Studies.

BIOFUR® NXT has a 43.8% lower carbon footprint than PET.

Certification

BIOFUR® PLA is certified USDA BioPreferred, OK compost and TUV certified. 

BIOFUR® NXT has certification pending. 

Circularity

BIOFUR® PLA textiles can be 100% recycled back into virgin building blocks.

BIOFUR® NXT is 100% recyclable.

Color & Dyes

We can make our textiles in any Pantone color that is requested. All forms of natural dyes and pigments from vegetables, flowers  and minerals are compatible with BIOFUR™. Currently we are working on new solutions for bio-colourant production with the aim to create a full range of color using bio-based dyes and pigments.

Flame Retardant

BIOFUR® textiles contain less than 3% minerals derived from phosphorus which has been added for flame retardancy. 

Washing

BIOFUR® textiles can be machine washed.  Our textiles do not shed any trace microplastics into our waterways.
